The U.S. added 227,000 jobs in November, as hiring recovers from storms and a strike

The U.S. labor market rebounded in November, adding 227,000 jobs.

This surge in hiring follows a slowdown caused by Hurricane Ian and a strike at General Motors.

“The labor market recovery is back on track,” said economist David Kelly.

However, he cautions that interest rate hikes could make it harder for businesses to hire in the future. Despite these concerns, the unemployment rate held steady at 3.7%, the lowest level since 1969.

“The job market remains tight, with more jobs being created than there are people to fill them,” said Kelly.
