The air crackled with a mix of euphoria and anticipation as the Syrian people reveled in their newfound freedom, celebrating the end of an era marked by tyranny and oppression.
Trump promised to pardon Jan. 6 felons. Where does that stand now?
In the aftermath of January 6th, then-President Trump pledged to pardon his supporters convicted of crimes related to the Capitol insurrection if re-elected. However, Trump’s promise has hit several roadblocks. First, Trump lost his bid for re-election. Subsequently, the Department of Justice initiated investigations into the Capitol riot, resulting in the indictment of hundreds of individuals allegedly involved in the attack. Legal experts contend that issuing pardons at this stage would likely constitute obstruction of justice and further implicate him in the events of January 6th. Trump’s pardon pledge seems unlikely to materialize.
