Magic can’t save ‘Harry Potter’ star Rupert Grint from a $2.3 million tax bill
Rupert Grint, who played the beloved Ron Weasley in the “Harry Potter” franchise, finds himself in a financial pickle as he faces a staggering $2.3 million tax bill. Despite his magical performances on screen, even witchcraft and wizardry can’t seem to save him from the clutches of the taxman.
Grint’s financial woes stem from £1.2 million ($1.53m) in income from his acting work and £700,000 ($891,000) from various business ventures during the fiscal years of 2018 to 2019. Unfortunately, it appears that the once-boy wizard has fallen short on his tax obligations, leading to the hefty tax bill.
